Another Christmas Present

I didn't post this earlier because I didn't want to spoil the surprise. I made this Mary and Joseph for my mother. I finished it just before Christmas. It was close. I think that she liked it.

A Christmas Present (Shhhhh!)

I made this lion a few weeks ago for one of my nieces. It is made from some fleece that I had left over from all the rabbits that I made earlier this year. My niece is only two years old, so I did not use button eyes this time. The eyes are made from felt. He looks more like a court jester than a king.

A Western Dude

I didn't want the viking to be out numbered, so I made this fellow. He started out as a cowboy, but by the time I was finished with him, he looked more like an old crusty, but slightly lovable, miner.

The Viking

Here are a couple of pictures of the viking that I made a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes I just want to try something different. He took me longer to put together than I thought it would. The battle axe and shield are a last minute addition.

Here he is without his weapons. He is not a very threatening viking. "Terror of the North" just doesn't seem to fit. The two ladies in the last post seem to like hanging out with him though.

Some Summer Projects

I have been very busy this summer and haven't had a lot of time to sew anything, but I did manage two more peasant woman. These are bigger than the first that I made for my mom. I used much brighter colors.

Each doll has her arms sewn on differently because I was trying to iron out some kinks in my design. I'm still working on that, but overall, I think that they were a success.

A Birhtday Present

Here is a little lady that I made for my mom on her birthday. This design has been swirling around in my head for a while. It wasn't too hard, but I have a few things that I still need to figure out. I would like to try another only make it about twice as big. My problems stemmed from the small size, I think. She is only about 5 inches high.

Socks, Scouts and Cupcakes

Friday night was the annual spaghetti dinner and cake auction fundraiser for the Scouts. I created this funny puppet just for that. The cup cakes needed something to be scared of though they should have been more worried about the hungry kids than that fuzzy monster.
